  • Position Summary

    Avineon is seeking an IT Field Support Specialist to add to our team. The IT Field Support Specialist will provide classroom support for up to 200 students per week including desktop support, set up of VTC and projection equipment, and troubleshooting WIFI connectivity issues.


    Additional duties of this position include providing remote and desk-side support for systems, peripherals, and applications. The candidate will provide troubleshooting and remedy for computer incidents that are escalated from the service desk. Other support duties may include office moves and new equipment installation (servers, routers, switches).

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Setup VTC equipment and provide classroom support.
    • Troubleshoot classroom projection equipment.
    • Resolve WIFI connectivity problems in classrooms.
    • Provide remote and desk-side support for client employees.
    • Address and correct any hardware, software, or network connection issues at alternate field location when remote resolution is not possible or practical.
    • Provide basic remote office LAN and WAN hardware installation for client enterprise.
    • Swap user data, track, configure, and install new computers for users.
    • Be responsible to work within the customer’s asset management processes for equipment distribution and tracking.
    • Provide answers to client by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding client through corrective steps.
    • Ensures backup, recovery, and data restoration from workstations for customers during upgrades or when a problem with the system is diagnosed.
    • Maintain system and knowledge base documentation.
    • Coordinate hardware and software installations with end users.
    • Monitor and adhere to policies and standards related to the use of computing resources.
    • Provide advice and training to end-users.
    • Maintain current knowledge and certification of relevant technologies.
    • Participate in special projects as required.

    Education - Experience & Skills Required


    • Minimum 3 years of experience providing IT support to customers.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting enterprise Windows environments.
    • Familiar with all standard MS Office software systems.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft, Adobe, Java, and other software in the production environment.
    • Possess knowledge of workstation administration and management including imaging.
    • Experience using an enterprise trouble ticketing system such as Cherwell or Remedy.
    • Excellent communications skills and a positive attitude.
    • ITIL certification desired but not required.
    • Windows 10 certification training is a plus.
    • Must be clearable as IT Level 1 (A+, CCNA, Net+, SSCP) or higher.
    • High school diploma.
    • IAT Level I (CompTIA A+) certification or higher required in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M.
    • Local and long distance travel may be required.
