  • Position Summary

    Avineon is seeking a Technical Writer in support of an information technology project. The ideal candidate will develop, draft, revise, and edit technical documentation, including manuals, requirements documentation, reports, risk assessments, articles, specifications, presentation materials, and other documents, as needed.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Tasks may include editing, formatting, and enhancing existing documentation. Also, requires the ability to use rough outlines and resource materials, and interpret information obtained through research or provided in meetings by technical specialists to develop documentation.
    • Applies knowledge of project documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit, and publish technical manuals.
    • Collects, develops modifies, prepares, or validates documentation working with subject matter experts in information security.

    Education - Experience & Skills Required

    • A minimum of four years of experience performing the foregoing technical writing functions in technical documentation including the ability to define, coordinate, and implement program documentation in a classified environment.
    • Experience with IT service management processes and CMMI desired.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Visio. Must be willing to work in a team environment and be able to document and transcribe meetings. 
    • Must have excellent organization skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline. Degree is required.
